Call for Nominations
Member Elected Director
The Board plays a vital role in overseeing the strategic vision of WA Cricket — from completing the redevelopment of the WACA Ground and strengthening our financial sustainability, to growing the game across all WA communities and ensuring excellence in performance and governance.
By electing Directors with appropriate attributes, Members will help to ensure the Board is best equipped to lead with wisdom, integrity, foresight and inclusivity.
One Member Elected Director may be elected at the 2026 AGM.
The Board seeks nominations from Members who are able to demonstrate:
- Relevant skills and experience in governance, finance, law, commercial development, strategy or community leadership.
- A clear commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion, helping the Board better reflect our Membership and the communities we serve.
- Balanced representation, including increased cultural and gender diversity, to reflect the future of our game.
- A deep passion for cricket and a strong understanding of WA Cricket’s strategic direction.
In accordance with paragraph 5.10(c)(i) of the Constitution, nominees must provide a summary of background career and personal information as to their skills, experience and attributes.
Skills Matrix
The Board maintains a skills matrix to help ensure it has the necessary skills, experience and attributes to oversee WA Cricket and its strategic direction.
The skills matrix incorporates a wide range of professional director and other skills. Currently the most sought-after skills, experience and attributes identified by the skills matrix are:
- Political Networks and Government Relations.
- Business Networks.
- Finance
The Director Nomination Form provides further details on the WACA Board skills matrix and the current most sought after skills, experience and attributes.
Diversity
The Board encourages Members who bring a strong mix of governance, commercial and strategic-thinking skills, along with a commitment to diversity and inclusion to nominate. The Board believes that nominees who reflect the changing face of our game — across gender, culture and community — and who share our vision for WA Cricket’s future, are best placed to support the organisation’s continued growth and success.
Increased diversity will enrich perspective, improve corporate performance and improve the probability of achieving WA Cricket’s strategic objectives.
Director Nomination Form
The Director Nomination Form contains a section for nominees to set out their skills, experience and attributes (Director Capability Statement).
The Director Capability Statement should address the most sought after skills and diversity considerations outlined above and must be completed using the provided MS Word template linked below. The Director Capability Statement must be limited to 250 words and accompanied by a headshot of the nominee.
